Animal Tracks In The Cloud Dough

Looking online for some ideas for A & J to try out. I kept coming across something called “cloud dough”. My most recent excursions got me to TinkerLab where Rachelle wrote about trying “cloud dough”. It’s a simple mixture of 8 cups of flour and 1 cup of baby oil. The cloud dough sounded like a lot of fun so I thought we should give it a try. Well it definitely did not disappoint and I know they will be asking to play with it again. In using the cloud dough I was able to incorporate a lesson on animal tracks. Here is what we did.

Flipped Our Lids For Nature

We made some nature shadow boxes. Thank you once again (I’m sure you’ll read this often) to Teach Preschool for sharing their nature shadow boxes with the blogosphere. We used a slightly different process but they turned out great and the children loved them.

Alphabet Books

We are creating French Alphabet books. These of course could be made in any language. Both A & J now know their letters in French so I thought this would be a great and fun opportunity for them to expand their French vocabulary.

Dry Erase / Dot Marker “Prewriting” Fun

After recently watching a video on Deborah’s Teach Preschool website talk about pre-writing, I was inspired to have J & A try some new pre-writing activities. Some that I’ve incorporated are the same as she suggested, others are a little variation.
